I am an artist, writer, and parent.

A. L. Kaplan’s love of books started at an early age and sparked a creative imagination. Her work has been included in several anthologies and magazines. She is the Maryland Writers’ Association’s vice president and a past president of the Howard County Chapter. A. L. holds an MFA in sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art. When not writing or indulging in her fascination with wolves, A. L. is the props manager for a local theatre.

Ms. Kaplan, we met yesterday, or rather I was a cashier and you were a customer. We spoke momentarily and you gave me the address of your site. I, too, am a writer. A writer of songs. Here’s the link to my latest one, and I would appreciate any feedback you might care to give me:)

    • A. L. Kaplan says:

So glad you visited. Watch the video you suggested and a few others. You’re very talented.

    • Loved the contrast between the music and the words, Paul – underscored the complacency rampant in our country – so “business as usual, everybody stay chill.”

WIth the inauguration today, to answer the question you posed, I would be even more terrified to be a black person in America. I feel the same way as a white person who is not one of the mega-rich, however. Obama was stonewalled – beautiful ideas for change that he never had a prayer of actuating. And it’s looking like the incoming agenda is to erase anything he *was* able to accomplish.

      Thanks for sharing.
